In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a Super Villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state. Surprisingly, not a whole lot changed. Politicians were still corrupt. Banks still held onto your money. And criminals still committed crime. Though the black market has become more readily available. And in that not so black market, Felix discovers he has a way to make his power useful after all, and grasps a hold of his chance with both hands. Warning and minor spoiler This novel contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/partial harem, unconventional opinions/beliefs, and a hero who is as tactful as a dog at a cat show. This is not a deep story, but a fun one. The main elements that make this story surprisingly great:-Buildup of his own empire from scratch
-Villain doing good superhero stuff with villain's flare to it
-Some trading
-Cool tech/inventions
-Light harem action
-Character growth/leveling (specifically litRPG style, some will like others won't)
-Interesting abilities (typical of the super genre)
Only things that really nag me after reading this story:
-Start premise was a bit weak, but it was brief and we moved on so that's good
-The end. It was done poorly/rushed. Should have had another 10-15 pages setting everything right and tying up loose ends.
-The main character getting his hands dirty there at the end. Should have stayed true to form and found a way to get the job done using his own unique talents/characteristics. (Everything after reaching the elevator bottom was garbage.)
-Who was really the bad guy here? Yeah we kind of got a vague answer, but the point to the conflict was really vague and glossed over. He's just always under attack for what turns out to be a pretty thin reason that's answered in basically 2 or 3 sentences on a random page towards the end.
Despite those few flaws, this is really one of the best books of it's type I've read in a year or two. Not many come out with with these plot elements that are done well. (Similar recent non-super examples would include the Stavin Dragonblessed series by Loren K. Jones, ALICE by Charles Lamb, Wild Wastes by Randi Darren, and Destiny's Crucible by Olan Thorensen.) Keeps you turning the page for sure. Short enough for a half-day read.
I don't generally like most "super" stories, but this one was very solid. I'll buy the next in the series without waiting for reviews.

As with all of William's works there is a harem, one the main character knows about but usually doesn't accept... That being said you have been warned... This is a fantastic read, it pulled you in the thing this author does an amazing job at is character development he starts from fast food supervisor, and goes to well... Let's just say millionaire entrepreneur over the course of the story and you get so attached to each character I can't wait for the sequel he said should... Should... Be out in October and I can't wait, for those of you I the same boat as me check his other series Otherlife
It can be hard to categorize Super Sales on Super Heroes. On the surface, it is a comic book-ish story where heroes and villains exist. And the main protagonist has a weird power that requires a hard turn away from morality.
As some reviewers have noted, the beginning and the ending of this book are weak. I deducted a star in my rating solely for this reason. The author does not wow readers with brand new ideas or storylines. What he DOES well is write an entertaining story that kept my interest as a reader. The writing is very solid and relatively mistake-free in terms of grammar and spelling.
In this story, the author presents a city where the heroes have fallen and the residents have come under the rule of villains. I think the author missed a real opportunity to really explore this setting. The reader is shown glimpses via the MC's interactions with criminals, but the author could have spent a little more time fleshing out how governance-by-villains will work. For example, what happens if a resident decides to rob a pedestrian? Does he have to pay a cut of his gains to the villains in charge? Are there still law enforcement activity to enforce some resemblance of a civilized society? Instead, the author spent the majority of MC's focus on building his organization via slavery.
Super Sales on Super Heroes is an interesting anti-hero story more suited for a mature readership. The book touches on mature themes such as mutilation and violence, and therefore, may not be suitable for the teenage reader.
How does some random minor super with an odd power found what could become either the worlds semi-utopian corporation (or greatest evil organization)? Just ask Felix. Really enjoyed the heck out of this book, purchased it on a Friday, finished over the weekend and reread it before the next weekend started. The story flows nicely, with the titular character doing actual things that earn him the respect and affection of his romantic interest, instead of him getting it because Plot!! Now picking up the others books by the same author.
Wow! Had no idea when I started just how different this book would be. The main hero's power is unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Very unique and creative. The plot is pretty straightforward, the characterizations are very good, and clearly there is plenty of room for sequels.
So many really interesting and unusual ideas in this book, and they all work well. One of the few books I've read recently that I just couldn't put down. I highly recommend the book, and can happily say I just bought his other series. Can't wait to get started on that, and I can't wait for the sequel to this amazing book!
Ok this is one of the most original Supers novels I have read since Don't Tell My Parents I am a Supervillain. Don't think I have ever read a Supers novel quite this entertaining. Def looking forward to the sequel.
Lets start with the fact that this book hits LitRPG from an entirely new angle. I have never heard of a combination of niche genres quite like this, and the execution? Excellent. Nothing is as straightforward or black and white as it may appear. Much like reality. The MC is human, with human foibles and flaws, but the ability to adapt and grow based on the interactions of those around him. The MC at the beginning is wholly different from the MC at the end. Characters have true substance and motivations, not flat and 2d. Even my wife loves this book, and she hates Super Hero/Villain themed books. Great job William!
Funny, with down right laughable bits. Backstabbing good/bad guys. People that are people, that work together for a common goal.
Damn fine book. Really looking forward to seeing if there is a sequel to this one.
